A person has been confirmed dead as a result of a multiple vehicle collision on the Edison Bridge in Fort Myers. The accident is being investigated.

Law enforcement at investigating a multiple vehicle crash on the Edison Bridge in Fort Myers that left one person dead. Due to the crash, the bridge was shut down. It was reported that two vehicles involved in the collision ended up in the north and southbound lanes of the bridge. It is unclear yet the factors that led to the multiple vehicle collision.

The bridge has since reopened. Few details were provided by the officials, including the name of the person who died in the accident. The Fort Myers Police Department are still investigating the crash.
