Incorrect Use of Forceps
Improper or careless use of forceps might have led to oxygen deprivation and could have injured your child’s chest or neck, among other complications. Mayo Clinic reports that a lack of oxygen can cause cerebral palsy.
Misuse of Vacuum Device
Medical professionals use a vacuum apparatus to assist a mother during vaginal birth. The doctor could have attempted to lead your baby through the birth canal by latching the vacuum onto the fetus’ head or shoulder. The doctor could have injured your child’s neck or head in this fashion, if they were not using the vacuum correctly or with enough care.
A Lake Mary birth injury lawyer could help you file a claim for compensation if the improper use of a vacuum device caused injuries to you or your baby.

Delayed Cesarean Section
When there are signs of fetal distress, a mother might need an emergency cesarean section (C-section) procedure. Fetal distress arises when a fetus’s heart rate drops due to a lack of oxygen, according to the Merck Manual.
Several other conditions might necessitate a C-section, including:
- Stalled labor
- Placenta previa
- Placental abruption
- Uterine rupture
- Breech positioning of the fetus

If the attending medical professional wrongfully delayed ordering a C-section delivery, you may be able to hold them liable for your or your child’s injuries. Call the Law Offices of Anidjar & Levine at 1-800-747-3733 if you suffered injuries due to a delayed C-section.
