How Can Our Drunk Driving Trucking Accident Attorneys In Brevard County Help You Recover Compensation?
Our Brevard County personal injury lawyers may have two options for handling your case: filing an insurance claim or filing a lawsuit. The differences between them are as follows:
- A successful claim results in a pretrial settlement and is typically faster to resolve.
- A successful lawsuit may require your attorney to represent you in the courtroom and seek a jury award on your behalf.
Both options have their merits. Your Brevard County lawyer can carefully investigate your case to decide which of these options is right for you.
Then we can get right to work fighting for the many damages you can recover after an accident with a drunk truck driver. These damages include:
Medical Expenses For Truck Accident Injuries
The at-fault party should pay for every treatment you received or will need in the future.
If you have trouble finding a doctor or paying your bills, we can offer our assistance with that, too.
Property Damage Caused By The Accident
This includes the cost of getting your car fixed or, if it is damaged beyond repair, replaced with a similar model.
Our Brevard County drunk driving truck accident lawyers can schedule appointments with a body shop so you can repair your car more easily.
Income Lost Due To Your Accident Injuries
You should not have to worry about being able to support your family as your injuries heal. We can ask the insurance company to pay you enough money to cover your needs.
Pain And Suffering Associated With Your Drunk Driving Accident Injuries
This includes all physical, mental, and emotional distress that you experienced because of this crash.
When you have been severely injured, you want a lawyer who knows how to treat you with compassion and respect, as well as knows the law.
One of our former clients described how they “lost hope” until a “kind and very professional” attorney from our firm took on their case and “made sure everything was a total success.”

Who Can You Sue For A Drunk Driving Accident Involving A Truck?
In many truck accident cases, we end up suing the trucking company. This is because employers are vicariously liable for their employees’ actions. Even if it was the driver’s choice to drink and drive, it is often their employer who must pay your damages.
Some accident victims may be nervous about taking on a big trucking company. While it is true that many companies retain high-power attorneys to protect their interests, you do not have to face those attorneys on your own. You have the right to hire your own personal injury attorney to advocate for you.
Our legal team can confront both the trucking company and their insurance company, so you do not have to worry about meeting with them in person:
- We can submit and receive all necessary paperwork from them.
- We can speak with them and set up meetings on your behalf, then represent you at those meetings.
- If they try to blame you for the accident or insist they are not responsible, we can fight back.

How Do Drunk Driving Accidents Happen, And Can You Prevent Them?
Data from Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) shows that Brevard County saw a total of 166 drunk driving accidents in 2023. Common causes of accidents involving drunk truck drivers include:
- Carelessness on the driver’s part for choosing to drink or for mixing alcohol with medications that enhance the effect of the alcohol
- The trucking company’s carelessness in hiring a driver with a history of driving drunk or other reckless behaviors
- Carelessness on the part of a bar or other establishment that overserved the driver
There may not be much you can do to stop a truck driver from driving drunk. There are already laws on the books that severely punish commercial vehicle drivers for driving while intoxicated, even if their blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is below the general legal limit.
That said, there are still ways you can protect yourself on the road. Always give truck drivers plenty of room, especially if they are exhibiting erratic behavior, like weaving back and forth or exceeding the speed limit. If they try to goad you—for example, by honking the horn or yelling—do not engage: just get away from them as quickly and as safely as you can.
If all else fails and you end up in a collision with a reckless driver, get medical treatment for your injuries, and then call us. Anidjar & Levine is here to pursue the financial compensation you need to ensure your family’s continued stability and comfort.
