Woman Injured As Van Crashes Into Lehigh Acres Family Dollar

A woman was injured after a minivan crashed into a building Monday afternoon in Lehigh Acres.

Officials said the accident happened at the Family Dollar on Homestead Road North around 1:30 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol says a 57-year-old woman was walking in front of the store when the 77-year-old driver attempted to park the van and hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Two people in the van were not injured and the driver was cited for careless driving.
