Two Kids Critically Injured In Englewood Crash

Two children from Venice suffered critical injuries in a crash in Englewood on Sunday afternoon.

According to authorities, the crash happened at the intersection of River Road and Winchester Boulevard.

Officials said q 40-year-old Michigan man was driving an SUV south on River Road just before 4:45 p.m. Three other people were in the car: a 54-year-old Venice woman, a 7-year-old girl, and a 5-year-old boy.

A 54-year-old Venice woman was driving a pickup truck north on River Road when the SUV driver tried to turn left onto Winchester Boulevard, crossing into her path. This caused the front of the pickup truck to collide with the SUV.

The driver of the SUV and his 54-year-old passenger were seriously injured. Both children were also left with critical injuries.

The driver and the passenger of the pickup truck were left with minor injuries.
