Plantation police say they are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian that occurred Monday morning.
Authorities said the incident occurred sometime before 6 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Sunrise Boulevard near Florida’s Turnpike.
A spokesperson for the police department, Officer Chavez Grant, said the pedestrian, who was a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He said the driver failed to remain at the scene.
