A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a pickup truck on SR A1A Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a white truck was turning left onto A1A N. from Dondanville Road when the driver hit a female crossing through the crosswalk. First responders pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
Investigators say they are working to confirm the identity of the victim. Authorities did not say if the driver of the truck remained at the scene, but they revealed that the incident remains under investigation though the cause of the crash is unknown at the moment.
