Florida Highway Patrol Says Two People were Killed and Two were Critically Injured in a Collision on an Interstate 95 Exit Ramp to Hollywood Boulevard.
Lt. Yanko Reyes said the driver of a car heading on the southbound ramp lost control and struck a car driving east on Hollywood Boulevard killing a 62-year-old man and 64-year-old woman from Pembroke Pines.
“They were taken to the hospital where they were pronounced deceased due to this crash,” he said. “The vehicle that lost control and caused the collision had two [men] that were taken to the hospital and remain in critical but stable condition.”
Authorities said the crash happened about 6:07 a.m. in the 3000 block of Hollywood Boulevard eastbound just west of I-95.
One car came to rest against a light pole. The car with the two fatalities rolled over onto the driver’s side and became lodged against a column support under the I-95 overpass. Debris from the collision struck the rear of an eastbound SUV driven by a Miami man, 33, with a 35-year-old Hollywood man in the passenger seat. Neither was hurt.
The FHP did not disclose the names of the six people involved in the collision.
