World Golf Village, Florida, is, for many, a dream home. It also happens to be in the immediate vicinity of one of the busiest highways in the nation: I-95. That’s one reason tractor trailers and other large commercial vehicles can be a common sight around the area. Unfortunately, collisions involving these vehicles can cause major injury or death to those involved.
If you or a loved one has been hurt in a World Golf Village truck accident resulting from someone else’s actions or negligence, compensation for losses is recoverable. Pursuing it requires filing an insurance claim or lawsuit, and many find themselves fighting an insurance company and truck carrier for what they deserve.
You don’t have to handle this process yourself. Having served Floridians since 2005 our World Golf Village truck accident lawyers at the Law Offices of Anidjar & Levine can handle your World Golf Village truck accident case while you focus on your recovery. The Benefits of Hiring a World Golf Village Truck Accident Attorney
A personal injury lawyer can help in many ways when seeking compensation after a truck wreck. Specific ways our attorneys and staff can help include:
- Answering your questions and helping you understand your options during an initial consultation.
- Conducting an investigation into fault and liability, which can be complicated in truck accident cases as drivers, truck carriers, and others could be liable.
- Gathering evidence of fault (such as witness statements, police reports, hours of service records, truck inspection records, etc.) to strengthen a claim or lawsuit.
- Helping you access top medical care, as many truck accidents cause severe injuries requiring considerable treatment and ongoing care.
- Assisting with transportation if your vehicle is no longer drivable, which is certainly possible because large trucks have the potential to cause serious damage.
- Fighting for damages, which often include future losses and non-economic losses in truck accident cases.
- Filing a claim or lawsuit with supporting evidence and documentation of your losses, as well as any other relevant evidence (such as truck inspection records).
- Negotiating for a fair settlement, which may be relatively large in a truck accident case and could cause some insurers or truck carriers to push back during negotiations.

Liable Parties in World Golf Village Truck Accident Cases
A careless truck driver can cause an accident in many ways, including:
- Speeding
- Driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Driving while distracted
- Not being qualified to operate a large commercial vehicle
- Staying on the road too long and not taking breaks
- Changing lanes or turning carelessly
- Ignoring traffic signs and signals
Those are just a few examples. Truck accidents may also result from mechanical failure and similar vehicular issues.
Trucking companies have a duty to hire qualified drivers and to maintain roadworthy vehicles. Sometimes, a truck driver may be liable after an accident. However, it’s common for their employer to be liable. Potentially liable parties include:
- Truck drivers
- Trucking companies
- Cargo shippers/loaders
- Truck manufacturers or designers
- Third parties involved in truck maintenance or repairs
Determining liability and gathering evidence to prove it often requires conducting an investigation. Our law firm has the resources needed to conduct such an investigation on your behalf.
What to Do After a Truck Crash in World Golf Village
The injuries you could sustain in a truck crash may render you immobile in the immediate aftermath of the collision. Your main priority now is staying safe and receiving medical care.
However, if you can do so safely, take these steps right after an accident. Doing so may strengthen your case from the beginning:
- Tend to your injuries and any injuries your passengers suffered that require immediate attention.
- Get to a safe spot away from traffic.
- Call 911 to report the crash. The St. Augustine Police Department, which typically has jurisdiction in World Golf Village, or the Florida Highway Patrol will head to the scene to make an official report.
- Unless it’s unsafe to do so, check if others involved in the accident need medical assistance or any other help. Approach anyone else involved in the wreck calmly, even if you think they caused it. Exchange contact information and insurance information with the other drivers.
- Don’t admit fault. Speak with us before speaking with others about your role in the accident.
- Get the names and contact information of witnesses.
- Take pictures of the scene including the vehicles and your injuries.
See a doctor as soon as possible if you didn’t require emergency medical care. Along with ensuring you receive proper care, seeing a doctor right away will link your injuries with the accident. Be sure to save your medical bills and records. After seeing a doctor, set up a consultation with our firm to discuss your case.
In the days after the crash, get in touch with the St. Augustine Police Department (or the agency that responded when you called 911) to request a copy of the police report. A police report is important because it’s a neutral account of the accident from an objective third party. We can also help you secure a copy of the police report if you haven’t done so.

How Long Do You Have to File a Truck Accident Lawsuit in Florida?
Don’t wait to take action after a truck accident resulting from negligence. The sooner you begin work on a case, the stronger and more valuable key pieces of evidence can be. For example, witness testimony of a recent event is often more reliable than witness testimony of an event that occurred years ago.
More importantly, per the statute of limitations, you have two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury lawsuit. You could lose your right to compensation if you miss the deadline!
