According to JSO, a 15-Year-Old Girl was Killed After a Driver Struck Her While She was Riding Her Scooter Close to the Intersection of Hodges Boulevard and Arabella Drive.
At the moment, report says no charges have been filed against the 53-year-old driver who was in the crash at Hodges Boulevard and Arabella Drive.
It was reported that the 15-year-old rode her bike north on Hodges Boulevard sidewalk prior to the crash. She then made a turn to the right to cross Hodges Boulevard at Arabella Drive. The 53-year-old driver of a Mercedes C230 was driving north on Hodges in the right hand lane. There’s no light at the intersection.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that as the Mercedes traveled through the intersection, the bicycle rode into its path and was struck.
Report says the young girl died in a hospital’s trauma center despite the attempts to save her life.
The Mercedes driver remained on the scene.
