Florida Highway Patrol Reported a Motorcyclist Killed in a Crash Involving Two Motorcycles and a Pickup Truck on Luckett Road at I-75 in Lee County Thursday.
According to FHP, a 26-year-old male motorcyclist was killed in the crash involving another motorcyclist, a 19-year-old male, and a truck driven by a 44-year-old female on Luckett Rd.
Officials say the accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Luckett Rd. at the I-75 northbound off-ramp.
FHP crash report revealed that both motorcyclists were traveling eastbound on Luckett Rd. at a high speed, while the driver in the truck was stopped facing north on the northbound I-75 off-ramp.
The truck veered into the eastbound lanes of Luckett Rd. to go left to get onto the westbound lanes and went into the path of the motorcycles. Both motorcycles crashed head-on into the truck separating both riders.
The 26-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 19-year-old was taken to the hospital to treat critical injuries.
The pickup truck driver was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The scene was cleared and the crash remains under investigation.
