A 30-year-old LaBelle Man was Killed After a Two-Car Crash on Buckingham Road on Tuesday Evening, Officials Said.
According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, they responded to the scene of the two-car crash near Park Road around 7:30 p.m.
Authorities said the LaBelle man was traveling north on Buckingham Road and a 57-year-old Fort Myers man was driving south on Buckingham Road with a 60-year-old Fort Myers woman. Both drivers were in pickup trucks.
Troopers said the 30-year-old sped past other vehicles in a no-passing zone near a curve in the road. When the Fort Myers man’s pickup came around the bend, they slammed into each other head-on.
The truck of the LaBelle man burst into flames as a result of the crash and he was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
The Fort Myers man and woman both suffered serious injuries and were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
