Naples Woman Thrown From SUV In I-75 Crash

A 43-year-old Naples woman was transported to the hospital after she was thrown from an SUV in a rollover crash just before 7 a.m. Sunday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving north on I-75 near State Road 82 with an 11-year-old boy when she veered onto the left shoulder, overcorrected, hit a guard rail and flipped the SUV.

The woman was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car leaving her with serious injuries, troopers said.

FHP reported that the boy, who was also not wearing a seatbelt, only suffered minor injuries.

The driver was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

Northbound lanes of I-75 were shut down near mile marker 138 for around three hours while troopers investigated the crash.
