Man Hit, Killed By Train In West Jacksonville %%excerpt%% Jacksonville

Police say a man was killed after he tried to cross underneath a train Wednesday morning on St. Clair Street.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened in the 2800 block of St. Clair Street around 11 a.m. 

Officials said a man in his 60s was hit while attempting to climb underneath the train. JSO said the man had his bicycle with him and was trying to cross under while the train was stopped. The train then started moving as he was crossing and injured the victim.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died. Police said his injuries included amputated legs due to the accident.
