A Florida teen caused a great deal of damage after crashing a Jaguar into a local animal clinic. The accident resulted in serious injuries for the driver, however, no one within the veterinary clinic was harmed. Here’s the latest on the incident and what you should know about suffering personal injury damage from an accident or being injured by a negligent driver.
Teen Driving Their Father’s Jaguar Collides with Local Animal Clinic
The teenage driver in question collided with the driver of a Cadillac Escalade before flying into the animal clinic and damaging the building severely. The accident occurred at an intersection between Martin Luther King Drive and US Highway 441 in Leesburg.
Speed was definitely a factor as the driver was said to have been going 100mph before the crash. No one has the ability to drive effectively at 100mph through city streets which is why no one should ever attempt such a thing whether they’re under the influence of drugs or alcohol or not.
Someone from a nearby car rental company came to the driver’s aid and attempted to help the driver of the totaled Jaguar. They managed to help them get out of the vehicle and reported that they did not believe that the driver had been consuming alcohol as they could not smell it while in close proximity.
Assessing the Damage
In assessing the damage, it was fortunate that no one inside the animal clinic was harmed as no one happened to be in the building at the time of the accident. That said, a great deal of damage was incurred regardless.
For starters, the teen driver damaged the Cadillac Escalade that they ran into. Furthermore, the Jaguar that they were driving suffered significant damages as it was hurled into the animal clinic upon impact with the Cadillac Escalade. The building that the Jaguar was thrust into also sustained notable damages.
The impact of the Jaguar interrupted the animal clinic’s phone and internet service. One of the vehicle’s tires was stuck in the wall of the building, causing further damage to the structure.
Upon realizing his situation, the driver of the Jaguar exclaimed various remarks indicating that the vehicle was not theirs and that it belonged to his father.
What to do When Your Vehicle Is Damaged by a Speeding Driver
Did you recently get into an accident because of a driver who was speeding and driving recklessly? Did this other driver cause significant damage to your car? If so, you may be wondering what you can do about it.
Speeding drivers are often difficult to deal with in the aftermath of an accident as some of them can be very aggressive. If the other driver’s insurance won’t pay for the repairs to your car or doesn’t cover anything related to the accident, that person may not be willing to pay you any money. To get proper compensation, you will need to consult with an attorney that’s familiar with similar suits.
You might feel as if there is nothing that you can do in this situation. However, that is not necessarily true. Read on for some tips on how to deal with a speeding driver who has damaged your vehicle so that they won’t get away with it scot-free!
Get Their License Plate Number
If you’ve been in an accident with a speeding driver and they refuse to pay for the repairs to your car, the first thing that you should do is get their license plate number. You can then report them to the police, submit the details of the accident to your insurance company, and hire an attorney to sue them for damages.
Additionally, you can report the speeding driver to their state’s department of motor vehicles. This can help get them in big trouble and may even result in the loss of their driver’s license. Getting the license plate number of the speeding driver who damaged your car can help you take action to get them in trouble and get you the compensation that you deserve.
Hire a Lawyer
If you’re dealing with a speeding driver who has damaged your car and they are unwilling to pay you any money, it may be useful to hire a lawyer. A lawyer can help you negotiate with the other driver’s insurance company on your behalf or sue the driver and secure your compensation.
They can also represent you in court if you end up going to trial with the speeding driver who damaged your car. Having an attorney on your side can make dealing with a stubborn speeding driver much easier. They can help you get the compensation that you deserve and make the whole process much less stressful.
Send a Demand Letter
If you’ve tried everything you can think of to get the speeding driver who damaged your car to pay you money, you may want to send them a demand letter. A demand letter is a formal communication from your lawyer or you to the other driver that explains what they owe you, why you’re entitled to the money, and what will happen if they don’t pay.
When you send a demand letter, you’re essentially initiating a lawsuit against the other driver. If they still don’t pay, you can take them to court and get a judgment against them.
