1 Dead, 5 Hurt In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Columbia County

One person was killed and five others suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash in Columbia County Friday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 6:30 p.m. on US 441 and SE Sprite Loop.

One of the vehicles involved in the crash was a patrol vehicle from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Florida Highway Patrol said a 49-year-old female died in the crash. First responders also took five other people, including some children, to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
