Florida Highway Patrol Said a 22-year-old was Killed and Four Others are Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Several Trees on I-295 Near Lem Turner Road.
According to the FHP report, a Kia Sportage was traveling southbound on I-295 when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and traveled onto the right shoulder into tree lines striking several trees.
The driver, a 22-year-old male from Jacksonville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other occupants, a 20-year-old male and three 19-year-old males, were transported to University of Florida Health in serious condition.
All of the occupants were from Jacksonville, according to FHP.
Officials said the crash is still under investigation and that charges are pending.
