Understanding Fire Loss Laws In Florida
If your property is ruled a total loss after a fire, the state of Florida’s Valued Policy Law requires that the insurance company pay you the full amount for which your property was insured.
The insurance company may try to convince you that the loss was not an actual total loss in an effort to reduce your payout amount. This is just one of many tactics insurance providers utilize to reduce your compensation amount or deny you funds. Other tactics include claiming the fire was started on purpose and arguing the fire happened due to an event that is not covered under your policy.
A fire claims lawyer in Jacksonville knows to counteract attempts by the insurer to manipulate you into accepting a smaller settlement than you deserve. If your insurance company tries to reduce your policy’s payout, claiming you did not submit the required information, call the Law Offices of Anidjar & Levine immediately. We can help you refile your claim and protect your rights against your insurance company.

Common Types Of Fire Damage
When there is fire damage at your property, you may have a number of repairs and replacements that are covered under your policy. Some of these include:
- Structural damage
- Smoke damage requiring fire restoration procedures
- Repairing utilities
- Loss of personal belongings
- Costs related to relocation after the fire
- Water damage/corrosion
An insurance company may use unrealistic cost estimates for certain types of repairs. Also, costs in the Jacksonville area may be higher than in another city in Florida. The insurer must take this information into account when calculating your settlement but may not as a tactic to reduce your compensation amount.
We Offer Strong Legal Representation During Your Fire Claim
