A Person is Dead After Being Fatally Struck by a Van Thursday Night in Putnam County.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. when a van was driving in the parking lot of Beck Wholesale Parts on Reid Street.
Troopers say the driver’s undercarriage hit a person lying in the parking lot in front of the warehouse, pinning her under the van.
Officials said she died of her injuries. FHP is working to learn her identity and why she was lying in the parking lot.
The 39-year-old Palatka driver of the van was not hurt.
