According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 52-year-old Hialeah woman was killed in a head-on crash on Northwest North River Drive.
The report says a 29-year-old man was also seriously injured in the crash. The collision happened on Northwest North River Drive near Miami International Airport.
The woman was reportedly driving a Kia Soul west on Northwest North River Drive when the vehicle crossed over the centerline. Consequently, it collided head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound.
The woman has been pronounced died, the trooper said. Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevrolet was taken to the nearest hospital with serious injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol report states it’s unknown whether either driver was wearing a seat belt.
Troopers in Miami continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
