When you get hurt on the job, act quickly, and take all necessary precautions to receive your workers’ compensation benefits. Here are some steps you can take:
Report the Incident
Do not hesitate to report your accident to your supervisor or employer. Be as detailed as possible, and tell your boss exactly what happened. Report any injuries or pain you are experiencing.
Seek Professional Medical Treatment

Follow-Up with the Accident Report
Request a copy of the accident report and make sure your employer files it promptly to avoid missing any deadlines. Make sure the report is accurate and reflects the facts of the accident. Also, make sure that there are no pertinent details left out.
Fill Out a Loss of Wages Claim
If you lose pay as a result of a doctor-ordered recovery, then fill out a Loss of Wages claim. Keep careful records of how much pay you have lost.
Follow Your Doctor’s Orders
Your doctor will send a report to the workers’ compensation claims insurance company or an administrator. Therefore, it is important that you follow your doctor’s order if you want to receive compensation benefits.
If you have any further questions about how to secure your benefits or what you should do if the insurance company denies your claim, then call our law office today at 1-800-747-3733.
