According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a motorcyclist was killed in an accident involving another car on Blanding Boulevard, and speed appears to be a factor.
Sheriff’s Office said this crash happened near the intersection of Blanding Boulevard and Sunderland Road. The motorcyclist, who was a man, reportedly wearing his helmet, died at the scene.
Report says the motorcyclist was traveling south on Blanding Boulevard at a high rate of speed and rammed into the passenger side of a car that was pulling out from Sunderland Road.
According to Nora Alexandre, who works in the area “Trying to pull out of here with this curve is very dangerous. The high performance bikes are the ones that really come by here fast, but everybody pretty much speeds through here.”
It was reported that the crash shut down traffic in both directions on Blanding Boulevard between Lake Shore Boulevard and Freemont Street while authorities cleared the scene.
Glen Levine, from the Law Firm of Anidjar and Levine, comments on this crash. “Unfortunately motorcycle accidents are often more deadly than automobile crashes. After an accident, victims and/or their families may not know where to turn. Although nothing can undo a terrible tragedy like this, an experienced accident attorney can help you fight to get the compensation you deserve.”
