A 55-Year-Old Woman was Killed in an Accident After a Driver Fell Asleep at the Wheel on FL-924 Toll at Opa-Locka.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was a passenger in a vehicle that was westbound on FL-924 Toll at Opa-locka when the driver, 24-year-old Woman, fell asleep at the wheel.
The 2012 Honda Civic went off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and became airborne. The vehicle then struck another embankment and overturned making the passenger to be half-ejected from the vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. The Raiford driver sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Neither of the victims was wearing a seat belt.
The Florida Highway Patrol is presently investigating the accident.
