According to Law Enforcement Officials, Several Cars were Involved in a Crash that Left Multiple People Injured After a Semi-Trailer Truck Flipped Over on Rickenbacker Causeway.
The accident reportedly happened on Rickenbacker Causeway where a semi-trailer truck carrying a load of roadway striping paint was headed westbound.
It was reported that the truck was said to be traveling above the speed limit when it hit a bump that caused it to spin out of control. The paint the truck was carrying spilled all over the road as vehicles behind the truck tried to swerve out of the way, police said. Many of the vehicles behind the truck could not avoid colliding with the debris and each other.
Report says EMS arrived on scene and reported that multiple victims, including the truck driver, had been injured in the crash pile-up. Emergency responders said some of the people involved suffered severe injuries. These victims were immediately transferred to the nearest hospital for further medical treatment. Others only suffered minor injuries and were treated at the site of the accident.
The incident is still under investigating.
