The eastbound lanes of East Beltway 295 have re-opened following a multiple-vehicle crash that killed a young girl and injured eight others, the report says.
According to Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of East Beltway 295.
The report says three vehicles were involved in the crash. One SUV rolled over and ejected a girl identified as a 9-year-old. She was reportedly in the SUV traveling to Neptune Beach with her mom and two friends, a 7-year-old and a 12-year-old, when the crash happened.
Investigators confirmed that the SUV was hit by a car causing it to flip. Troopers think that car then hit another car.
No charges have so far been filed, but the investigation continues.
