According to the JSO, the Accident Occurred on Landon Avenue at San Marco. The Victims are a Couple who were Sleeping When the Crash Happened, Deputies Said.
The report says the sheriff’s department is investigating a vehicle crash that has left two persons severely injured after a car crashed into their apartment on Landon Avenue.
It was reported by eyewitnesses that a driver lost control of his car and struck another vehicle. The second vehicle ran through a fence and slammed into the apartment building. Authorities are yet to confirm why the first car lost control.
Deputies said the crash left the husband with an injury to his head. The wife had injuries to her arm and ribs. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department administered first aid to the couple before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The two drivers were said to have suffered minor injuries which were treated at the scene. Deputies have not said if the driver who caused the crash will face charges.
No further details have been made available.
The accident remains under investigation.
