According to Florida Highway Patrol, Ronald Knight Died After Crashing his Nissan Frontier Into a Car, a Sign and then a Tree.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 50-year-old Jacksonville man died after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 295. The two-vehicle accident happened near Dunn Avenue.
It was reported that a Nissan Frontier was traveling in the inside lane and a Nissan Altima was traveling in the outside lane of northbound I-295. Subsequently, for reasons unknown, the Frontier drifted to the right, striking the rear of the Altima, FHP said. Troopers then reported that the Frontier went off the roadway, struck a metal sign and then hit a tree.
Report says, the driver of the Frontier, 50-year-old Ronald Knight, was taken to UF Health Hospital where he died. The Highway Patrol report shows it’s unclear whether he was wearing a seat belt.
According to the report, the driver of the Altima was a 33-year-old Jacksonville man. He was able to come to a stop on the shoulder of I-295 after the crash and was not injured, FHP said.
