Report says a Naples woman is in critical condition after she was injured in a fiery three-vehicle crash on the Interstate 75 bridge over Alico Road.
Florida Highway Patrol reported that 26-year-old Ana Maria Arce Valdes was driving a 2001 Lincoln Town Car southbound when it happened. She had stopped with her flashers on behind a 2016 Nissan Versa driven by 34-year-old Yadira Sanchez of Naples. Sanchez’s car was disabled on the Alico overpass.
A 2018 Jeep Wrangler, reportedly driving south on I-75 by 37-year-old male of Bonita Springs, struck the rear of Valdes’s Lincoln. This forced the Town Car into the rear of the Versa.
It was reported that after impact, Valdes’s vehicle and the Jeep became engulfed in flames.
Report says a driver going north, Andrew Lavendusky, had stopped to help the victims. He said one of the drivers, a woman, looked to have severe burns over part of her body.
According to the report, Valdes was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. Sanchez and the driver of the Jeep were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
Marc Anidjar, from the Law Firm of Anidjar and Levine, comments on this crash. “This was a unfortunate accident that led to a person sustaining injuries. When motorists are distracted, reckless or speeding they put the lives of others at risk. When a negligent driver causes a crash, he or she could be held accountable for the accident. An injured victim should seek out an experienced accident attorney to help with the collection of compensation for medical care, losses and damages.”
