A 63-Year-Old Woman from St. Petersburg was Killed and a 45-Year-Old Fort Myers man Suffered Serious Injuries in a Crash on Daniels Parkway Near Eagle Ridge Drive, Officials Said.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said they responded to the crash around 9:30 p.m.
An initial investigation of the crash revealed that the Fort Myers man was heading east on Daniels when he drove through standing water and hydroplaned. His car swerved into the westbound lanes and slammed into the front of the St. Petersburg woman’s SUV, troopers said.
Emergency Services transported the Fort Myers man to the hospital with serious injuries and the St. Petersburg woman was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. They were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The identities of the people involved in the crash have not been released. Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
