Multiple people have been injured following an accident on Dolphin Expressway after a SUV transporting multiple children flipped over and crashed into other vehicles.
Law enforcement officials said, the accident involved eight occupants in a SUV which consisted of four children and four adults. The driver of the SUV attempted to change lanes and then apparently lost control of the vehicle. They overturned in an attempt to correct the path of the vehicle.
Reports say that as the SUV rolled and struck a Toyota Camry that was traveling along Dolphin Expressway. The Camry was pushed into the median where it came to a rest, according to officials. The incident continued with at least three other vehicular crashes after the first collision.
EMS arrived to the scene of the accident soon after it happened to help the injured victims. Emergency crews reported that they quickly rescued the occupants of the SUV and began administering first aid.
Authorities say that the other people in the additional vehicles involved in the accident sustained various injuries. They were taken to different hospitals with three of the victims having to be airlifted due to severe injuries.
Authorities did not release the identities of the parties involved and no other details were given to the public at the time of this report.
