Golden Glades Interchange Accident in North Miami-Dade Leaves Two Dead

Report says two people were killed after a car plunged off a highway overpass on Interstate 95 at the Golden Glades Interchange and burst into flames.

According to officials, a black Mercedes was heading north on I-95 toward the entrance ramp to the Golden Glades Interchange Park and Ride when it reportedly flipped over the barrier, hit a highway sign and crashed onto the concrete below.

Investigators confirmed the identity of the victims as 21-year-old Troy Andrews and 21-year-old Brooklyn Taylor Easter.

It was reported that Florida Highway Patrol units responded to the deadly crash along southbound at the Golden Glades Interchange.

A tow truck driver Orlando Cabrera said, “When I heard the crash, it sounded like a boom. It immediately caught on fire.” He reported that it was too late to render aid to any of the victims.

Report says crews spent several hours cleaning up debris and removing the damaged highway sign.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
