According to the crash report, a woman was hit and killed by a car along Alabama Road and Palm Boulevard, in Lehigh Acres.
It was reported that Florida Highway Patrol and Lee County deputies responded to the crash.
This happened when a 54-year-old woman from Lehigh Acres attempted to cross the street. At this moment, an SUV was also driving north on Alabama Road.
Consequently, the woman was struck by the front of the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 27-year-old female driver of the SUV, who was reportedly from Fort Myers, has not been identified by name.
Report says all northbound and southbound lanes of Alabama Road South were closed as investigators worked the scene. However, according to Lee County deputies, the roadway has fully reopened.
