2024 Anidjar & Levine Community Service Scholarship Winner: Aviv Assayag
We are proud to announce Aviv Assayag as the 2024 recipient of the Anidjar & Levine Community Service Scholarship. A first-generation college graduate and future Harvard Law School student, Aviv has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to social justice, legal advocacy, and community empowerment. His work as a paralegal and legal researcher has already made a tangible difference, from helping a young, epileptic client gain emergency hospital access for his parents during the COVID-19 pandemic to conducting groundbreaking research on assisted suicide laws to promote end-of-life dignity. Aviv’s passion for using the law to protect society’s most vulnerable reflects the very spirit of this scholarship.
Beyond his legal contributions, Aviv has mentored dozens of economically disadvantaged pre-law students at UCLA, offering guidance, support, and professional development to help them overcome systemic barriers. His dedication to serving others is not only evident in his volunteerism but also in his vision for the future: to become an appellate impact litigator who advances civil rights and social justice at the highest levels.
