Young Girl Killed, 8 Others Hospitalized In East Beltway 295 Crash

Report says that the eastbound lanes of East Beltway 295 have re-opened following a multiple vehicle crash that killed a young girl and injuring eight others.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department reported that the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of East Beltway 295.

It was reported that three vehicles were involved in the crash. One SUV rolled over and ejected a girl identified as a 9-year-old. Reported says she was in the SUV traveling to Neptune Beach with her mom and two friends, a 7-year-old and a 12-year-old, when the crash happened.

According to the Investigators, it was believed that the SUV was hit by a car, causing it to flip. Troopers think that same car then hit another car.

The girl’s mom said her daughter was ejected and she searched for her but was not able to find her. Eventually, she realized her daughter was trapped under the SUV.

According to the reported, no charges have so far been filed, but the investigation continues.
