Officials say a 64-year-old Cape Coral woman suffered serious injuries in a crash that happened on I-75 on Monday afternoon.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers, who responded to the two-car crash around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, said four people were involved in the crash that happened south of Bee Ridge Road.
Authorities reveal that a 24-year-old North Port woman was heading north in the left lane of I-75 driving an SUV. The 64-year-old Cape Coral woman and a 40-year-old North Port man were also in the SUV.
Also heading north in the left lane of I-75 was a 54-year-old Brandon man in a pickup truck.
Troopers said the truck didn’t slow down for traffic and overcorrected which caused the right side of the truck to hit the front of the SUV. The SUV flipped and came to a stop on the right lane.
The crash is still being investigated.
