Police reported that three woman were severely injured in an accident involving a motorcyclist, a pickup truck and a sedan.
According to the police, this accident happened on Marsh Avenue near Arlington Avenue. Report says a 26-year-old driver of a pickup truck caused confusion on the road leading to a fiery accident.
Police says she swerved briskly into the opposite lane, drove head-on into an oncoming motorcycle who barely avoided the crash. An oncoming Toyota Yaris, driven by a 64-year-old woman, attempted to swerve away from the pickup truck. The Yaris crashed into the side of the pickup truck and then struck the motorcycle, police reported.
EMS arrived early at the scene of the crash to attend to the crash victims. As it was reported, the 21-year-old motorcycle rider only sustained minor injuries and was treated on the accident scene.
The driver of the Yaris and her passenger, a 48-year-old woman, sustained severe injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was badly injured as well. All the victims of the crash, except the motorcyclist, were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.
Police are still investigating the crash and no charges has been filed yet.
Glen Levine, from the Law Firm of Anidjar and Levine, comments on this crash. “This was an unfortunate multi-vehicle accident that led to three people being hospitalized. When there is a portion of the road surface that is damage, motorists can be distracted. If you combine this with a driver that possibly was distracted they can put the lives of others at risk. When a negligent driver causes a crash, he or she could be held accountable for the accident. An injured victim should seek out an experienced accident attorney to help with the collection of compensation for medical care, losses and damages.”
