Woman Killed When Struck By A Car In A Coral Way Accident

According to a news report from Miami, a woman was struck by a car after trying to get garbage bin that fell on Coral Way.

The woman whose identity has not been made public was trying to retrieve a garbage bin after it fell out of the back of a landscaping truck. Consequently, she was struck and killed by a car on the Coral Way, authorities said.

A spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol said a landscaping truck lost part of its load and dropped a garbage bin onto the roadway near Southwest 30th Court prior to the accident. He added that the female driver walked into the roadway to recover the garbage bin when a black Toyota Corolla crashed into the woman.

According to the spokesperson, the Corolla driver tried to swerve to avoid hitting the woman but couldn’t avoid striking her.

Report says the car involved in the crash had significant front-end damage, and a tarp covered the victim’s body.

No other details were immediately released as further investigation is ongoing.
