Woman Killed After A Motorcycle Accident on North Ocean Boulevard

It was reported that a woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident on North Ocean Boulevard in Lauderdale Beach, Fort Lauderdale.

The report says a 58-year-old woman died from blunt trauma after being involved in the incident.

The victim and a 52-year-old man were riding on a motorcycle when they were struck by a GMC Yukon at the intersection of North Ocean Boulevard and Northeast 27th Street, according to the Fort Lauderdale Police department.

The woman and the driver of the motorcycle were thrown off at impact. She later died in the hospital. A silver, older-model Oldsmobile also hit the moped as it was in the road. Both vehicle drivers left the scene and did not stop to help the injured motorcycle riders.  

Police report that the driver of the Oldsmobile was caught and taken into custody.

Police are still seeking the driver of the Yukon. Surveillance pictures of the suspected vehicle is available as part of the investigation. Police are asking anyone who may have more information to contact local authorities.
