A woman was hospitalized after a two vehicle crash in the East Arlington area, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

According to the Police, two vehicles collided at Hickory Hollow Drive and Hickory Creek Boulevard West.

A 2014 BMW and a 2016 Toyota Corolla crashed at an intersection when the BMW failed to stop at a stop sign.  Witnesses stated the BMW was speeding and driving erratically.

The driver of the Toyota was a 32 year old woman.  She sustained severe injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the BMW suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Police are still investigating the accident.  It is probable that the BMW driver will be charged as a result of running the stop sign.

Information on the injured parties was not available at this time.

Marc Anidjar, from the Law Firm of Anidjar and Levine, comments on this crash:  “There are over 700,000 collisions in this country every year at stop sign controlled intersections. That’s about 33 percent of all intersection crashes combined. Failure for a motorist to stop fully at a stop sign causes serious injuries and sometimes even a death.  If you have been injured in an accident from another drivers negligence, call our office for a free consultation.”
