A woman was badly injured in an accident while driving to work on Davie Boulevard (along FL-736). This was after a tractor trailer hauling lumber jackknifed and overturned, crushing her car.

A 36-year-old female was found in a critical state after an accident near the intersection of Davie Boulevard and Southwest 28thTerrace.

A tractor-trailer carrying lumber tried to stop abruptly. The driver of the truck lost control causing his truck to jack-knife, overturn and strike a Ford Fusion, badly injuring the driver, police said. The driver of the Ford was rushed to the nearest hospital.

The eastbound lanes of Davie Boulevard were closed and later reopen after several hours of work to clear the scene. Emergency crews had removed all of the debris, the tractor trailer and the Ford Fusion.

An investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending.
