North Fort Myers man dies after striking a 20 year old man’s car from Fort Myers.

William Lee Sanger of North Fort Myers died after his motorcycle struck a 2016 Chevrolet Impala driven by 20-year-old Steffen B. Bighames of Fort Myers.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Sanger entered the intersection of Pondella and Moody roads at a speed higher than the posted limit and struck Bighames’ vehicle, which was turning left on Moody Road. Sanger, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time it was not released if Mr. Bighames was injured in this crash.  This story will be updated as more information is released.

Sanger’s death was the 78th reported traffic fatality in Lee County this year.
