Venetian Causeway Head-On Collision; A Couple In Critical Condition

Miami Police say a man and a woman are in critical condition after a head-on collision on Venetian Causeway.

The report says a 58-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman were driving along Venetian Causeway when the accident occurred. The accident scene was on Biscayne Island. It happened when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction swerved into them, causing a head-on collision.

According to the investigators, the driver of the other car crossed the center line and into the couple’s lane.

First responders said both victims sustained traumatic injuries following the crash incidence. They have been rushed to an area hospital on a life-support system due to the severity of the crash. The report says the man and the woman are presently in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

The 24-year-old driver of the car that caused the wreck ran from the scene. Officers apprehended him moments later. The 25-year-old female passenger in his car was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no word yet as to what charges he could face. Police are still investigating the incident.
