Fort Lauderdale police said two teenagers were badly injured following a head-on collision accident on Northwest 19th Street.
A 16-year-old male was driving northbound on Northwest 19th Street in a 2010 Honda Civic when he crossed the center line, police said. He consequently struck another vehicle head-on in the process.
Fort Lauderdale Police spokesperson further said the Honda caught fire and burned after the occupants had exited the vehicle. This incidence resulted NW 19th Street being closed down for a few hours.
Report says the teenage driver sustained minor injuries and also the 17-year-old passenger in the Honda car sustained moderate injuries. Both were transported to a nearby hospital directly from the scene.
The impact of the crash is alleviated because both teenagers in the Honda were wearing their seat belts, EMS said.
The 28-year-old driver of the other vehicle was also transported to the hospital due to injuries.
The conditions of the victims has not yet been confirmed. Police are still investigating the accident.
