Law enforcement authorities say a man speeding in a stolen 2015 Nissan Maxima crashed into a parked police vehicle leaving two officers injured on Brickell Avenue.
Officials say the crash happened on Brickell Avenue where a man driving a stolen 2015 Nissan Maxima crashed into a parked police car.
Eyewitnesses said, the driver was speeding well above the speed limit before losing control and crashing into the parked police car that had two officers inside. The high speed collision left both of the officers with injuries.
Paramedics arrived to the scene of the accident and administered first aid treatment on the injured officers before they were transported to the nearest medical center for further treatment, troopers said.
The driver in the stolen vehicle suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries to his head and ribs. The man was treated on-site and then also taken to the hospital for treatment.
No further details about the driver who stole the car and struck the parked officers has been released to the public at the time of this report.
