Two Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash On I-75

Two people suffered minor injuries in a crash between a minivan and semi-truck Wednesday morning in the northbound lanes of I-75 in Naples.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened near Golden Gate Parkway on I-75.

Officials said the semi-truck was driving in the center lane of I-75 while another car was driving south in the left lane, adjacent to the semi. Troopers said a minivan was driving south as well in the left lane behind the other car and adjacent to the left side trailer portion of the semi-truck.

FHP said the left front tire of the semi-truck suffered a blowout, and the 51-year-old driver lost control of it. Tire debris hit the right-side area of the other car.

The left side of the semi sideswiped the right side of the minivan, and the minivan drove off into the grass median and hit the cable barrier. Troopers said the semi also drove into the grass median and hit the cable barrier.
