According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, two people were injured following an accident involving two vehicles on US-17.
The report says a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe was driving southbound on US-17 when the accident occurred. In the report, a Honda vehicle was sighted in front of a Tahoe and suddenly stopped, then started driving in reverse. The Chevrolet which was approaching sighted the oncoming vehicle too late and couldn’t avoid crashing into it.
Consequently, the Tahoe reportedly drove into a curb while trying to avoid the first vehicle and overturned. The 27-year-old man driving the Tahoe, and his 30-year-old female passenger, were injured, police said. They were treated at the scene and later transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
It was reported that the 46-year-old woman driving Honda was not injured and remained at the scene.
No charge has been filed yet. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
