Report says two people were sent to the hospital in Fort Lauderdale after a three-vehicle accident at Melrose Manors.

According to officials the accident happened on West Broward Boulevard at Melrose Manors.  Three vehicles were involved in the crash.

A Fort Lauderdale police officer said two people were transported to the hospital after the accident occurred. The other occupants in the vehicles were treated at the scene by EMS for minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is unknown at the moment. Officials said the roads will be closed for road crews to clear the scene. This will also help to determine the series of events that took place before the accident occurred, he added.

Eyewitnesses are being sought and questioned before an official statement will be issued.

As reported, the accident remains under investigation. No further information has been released to the public at the time of this report.
