Law enforcement authorities report that a man and his female passenger were hospitalized with serious injuries after being involved in a car crash on Cranford Avenue.
The accident happened when a Honda Civic was heading southbound on Cranford Avenue at a high rate of speed. Report says the driver lost control and collided with the driver of a Mercedes-Benz on the road. Both vehicles ended up in a private businesses parking lot after the collision.
The impact caused both vehicles to go up in flames after they came to a standstill. Authorities did not say why or how the Honda Civic driver lost control.
EMS arrived to the scene of the accident and said the driver of the Mercedes-Benz and his female passenger were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The Honda Civic driver sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the accident. He was also taken to another hospital as a precaution.
Officials shut down the area as on-scene investigations were conducted while emergency crews cleared the wreckage and debris from the accident. The incident is still currently under investigation.
