According to a report given by authorities, two children are recovering after being injured in an ATV rollover crash outside of Jacksonville.
It was reported that this unfortunate accident happened at Alligator Lake Park. The Florida Highway Patrol says a 12-year-old girl was driving the ATV with a 13-year-old girl in the passenger seat.
Troopers confirmed that the girls were driving the ATV along a walking trail when it hit a large bump. This incidence made the driver steer to the right, Troopers added. According to the report, the ATV driver lost control and traveled too closely to the edge of the trail and overturned into the water.
Both girls fell from the ATV and were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The ATV that the two girls were riding on did receive damage in this crash.
FHP says no charges were filed.
