Report says, two bicyclists sustained serious injuries when struck by a vehicle on Northwest 13th Street in Fort Lauderdale.
This accident reportedly happened on Northwest 13th Street in Fort Lauderdale. A 2012 Honda Accord, driven by a 23-year-old man, struck two bicycles. The two bicyclists were reportedly riding southbound of Northwest 6th Avenue into the Northwest 13th Street intersection.
Police reported that this incidence happened when the Honda drove into the intersection, exceeding the speed limit.
The 27-year-old woman riding one of the bicycles is in a critical condition, EMS said. The other bicycle rider sustained severe but non-life-threatening injuries.
It was reported that the crew rushed her to a nearby hospital. The cyclist suffered severe injuries on the knees and arms. The driver of the Honda is still on the scene of the crash.
Meanwhile, authorities reported that the cause of the driver’s speeding has not been determined. No charges has been filed yet as investigation is still ongoing.
